We are HERE

The inspiration behind my personal project comes from the combination of my connection to my heritage and my long time interest of the sport soccer.  Growing up Korean and having lived in Korea half of my life, I think that I always valued the sense of community, especially one that defined my culture. When I later moved to Japan at the age of eight, sports (especially soccer)  became that bridge that helped me connect with other children my age and find a sense of belonging in a new country.  Even though I was very unfamiliar with the new environment that I was suddenly placed in, playing soccer allowed me to create friendships beyond language.
